TWD: Chocolate Armagnac Cake - The Cake That Got Me Fired

I loved this cake !!!

I don't drink alcohol at all, so when I looked at the recipe and was looking at hubby's very limited alcohol collection, I decided to substitute the Armagnac to RUM. Forgive me for being so naïve with alcohol, I asked Steve to describe the taste of Armagnac, he said "not sure, but I think it's strong and you will have a burning feeling in ur throat" then I asked him to describe the taste of RUM , he said I know that is the same thing. So .. Me being a novice baker , thought as both alcohols will give the same effect, it should give the same effect to the cake!! How smart hey !!! Haha..

I am so glad that the cake turned out great, I have substituted the plum to raisins. The cake was very rich and chocolaty, we loved it !!! The cake goes well with ice cream or .. My favourate creamy premium yogurt - Jalna !!! Yum !!
Thanks to "And then I do the dishes" for choosing this recipe ***

I really think that all of the alcohol will be the same in this recipe so I fully support your decision to switch the Armagnac for rum. Your cake looks so pretty and full of chocolate goodness!

The original version was rum-soaked raisins, so I'm sure it was a great substitution! Looks wonderful.
