Cheese Biscuits

I was wondering what I should cook for the contest held by Pablopabla – Hochiak, I have been trying a few recipes of his and they all turned out great. I figured this time, I gonna try some baking recipe from his site and with further searching I found this cheese biscuits recipe.

Steve went out to the footy when I was doing the baking, & so my two dogs pondered around me in the kitchen. I was busy texting my hubby when all of sudden, we (as in my dogs and me) heard a big “pomp” and then we saw smoke coming out from my beloved mixer. My poor dogs were confused, so was I!! My mixer decided to commit suicide at this important moment!! I plan to submit my post tomorrow; I wanna win the USD $100!! kekeke.. I guess now it gives me better reason to win the prize – I need a new mixer!! (Pablopabla , can you hear me ;-p) . Haha, ok, I will be trying recipes from Hochiak for the next week, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kekekek.. I am kidding.

Ok, back to the baking, my poor flabby arm muscles were suffering when I decided to mix the biscuit dough manually. I tell ya, it was not easy; the dough was actually quite hard. But it was worth all the effort, the biscuits were great, very cheesy. My biscuits did not turn out as photogenic as Pablopabla’s mother in law’s ones, but they were tasty!! Thanks for recipe, Hochiak !!!

Ingredients
230 grammes of cheedar cheese (sliced)
1 egg
170 grammes butter
340 grammes flour
a little soda
a little salt

Method
Sieve flour and soda together.
Put salt, butter and egg into mixer. Beat until fluffy and light. Then, add in cheese slices and flour. Mix well.

hi jinhooi,
just stumbled into ur lovely blog! wah! so many yummy recipes - hard to decide which one to try 1st! :)I guess i will start with this one cos my kids luv cheese. Can u please advise the cheddar cheese ( sliced ) in this recipe refers to the block type, then we grate finely or the slices of cheese tht in a pack of 12 ??

Thks,
Susanna, Perth

Hi susanna,
Thanks for dropping by ;-) I used the block type, I suppose you can use the grated cheddar cheese. I am really not sure if the plastic cheese will work well in this recipe. But hey, why not give it a try ;-) Let me know how it turn out.
